From the intricate basket designs to hand crafted and painted pottery, the Akimel O’odham and Xalchidom Piipaash have a long and vibrant history of incorporating art into everyday life. That artwork is still in existence today and is carried on to future generations through multiple modern art mediums.
Discover Salt River is excited to showcase the various arts of the Akimel O’odham, Xalchidom Piipaash and other Native artists to the public in the first annual Salt River Arts Festival! The event will have an art exhibit, live performances, art vendors and more!

FAQ
Can I sign up if I’m not from Salt River?
Yes, any Native artist is welcome to sign up as long as you are enrolled in a federally recognized tribe. Please note that preference will be given to O’odham and Piipaash artist first.
Can I sell my artwork at the festival?
Yes, all artists will be able to sell their artwork to the public. All artists will be responsible for all transactions
Can I sign up if I’m a minor?
Yes, you will need parental/guardian permission and an adult to accompany you throughout the duration of the event.
Will I need my own set up?
Discover Salt River will be providing one table and two chairs per vendor space. Overhead lights will be present but artists are welcome to bring more lights if desired. No outlets will be provided. Canopies are not allowed at this time
How will I be notified if I am selected as a vendor?
All vendor sign ups will be contacted via email to confirm they are signed up as a vendor no later than September 19, 2025
